Is anyone still on here?
Earlier this year, I wrote and illustrated an all-ages book “Frankie’s Busy Day” about my cat, Frankie. Frankie has been in my autobio comics over the years, but this was the first book that was completely about her. I hand-crafted eighty copies of the book this summer and I’ve already sold all but two copies. It’s time to reprint!
In addition to the second printing of “Frankie’s Busy Day,” I also want to debut a new comic: “Coffee Cats,” a story about a race of tiny cats who live in coffee trees and how they come to effect coffee and its consumers.
I've spent the last few weeks getting ready for San Diego Comic Con next month. I'll be selling at the Poseur Ink booth out in Small Press. We're table N-12 this year, straight down the aisle you come in from the bayside entrance.
Some of you may recognize these spreads from the children's book, Frankie's Busy Day I started for class a few months back:
I finally took the time to go back and finish the entire book, and will have that for sale at Comic Con in a couple weeks, as well as in the Poseur Ink store.
It has a three-colour silk-screened cover...
...and a full colour interior:
It's 28 pages, limited to 78 copies. All signed and numbered, you can get them for $5 a pop.
I'll also have a sampler mini, full of stand-alone comics and illustrations I did over the last few months for $2 a pop. And copies of my 6-page Ed Emberly-inspired comic Adventure Story, for fifty cents a piece.
If you buy all three books: the sampler mini, Frankie's Busy Day, and Adventure Story, I'll knock the fifty cents off and package them in this fancy cardigan:
But that's not all! Also included in the fancy package is: a small hand-made notepad with silk-screened cover, a silk-screened sticker, and a 1" button. All for the low, low price of $7.
(Dark purple on light, pastel green. With assorted coloured paper inside.)
All of these pieces are limited quantities, but I'll continue to offer them until they run out. The cardigan-packaged bundles will only be offered at Comic Con at first, but if I have more after the show, I'll add them online too.
I'm moving across the country at the end of this month (omg) to attend The Center for Cartoon Studies (so that I can learn to make even better comics for you to enjoy), and need to raise some extra money in order to afford to move.
As such, all the prices in my Etsy store have been drastically reduced. (Most items are well under $20.) Please, please peruse the store and spread the word to friends. Thanks!
Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 7th. We'll be joining our friends from Studio Jfish at their signing at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles from 11am to whenever they run out of merch and swag, respectively. We'll have copies of Side B (featuring an 8-page story by Jason "Jfish" Fischer and Greg Khmara of Studio Jfish) and Jason will have copies of his zine Fine Literature #2 (featuring a page of art by me)! If you're in the area, please pop in and say hi! We'd love to see you!
